About Jennifer Corey Ballroom Dance Lessons Denver
Dance Background & Training

I have loved dancing from a very early age. I was introduced to dancing by Miller's Dance Studio in Aurora,CO when I was 4 years old. My first introduction to partner style dancing was by my mom, who had my brother and I dancing polka around the living room most evenings when I was a kid. As I got older I studied ballet extensively, and added in jazz, tap, and modern styles as well. As a way of exploring additional dance styles I stepped into a local ballroom studio to learn ballroom.  As they say the rest is history.

I have had the privilege of training with some really amazing dancers and teachers through the years. I have had the opportunity to receive training from U.S. & World Champions: Brian Watson & Carmen, Riccardo Cocchi & Yulia, Nadia Eftedal, Glenn Weis, Donald Johnson, and Ron Montez. Huge influences in my training have been Felipe and Carolina Telona, Richard Booth; and most recently Jim Maranto, and Shalene Archer.

I have received teaching certifications from Arthur Murray International and U.S. Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and the ISTD. I teach and coach social and competitive dancers  in all 5 styles: American Rhythm, American Smooth/Ballroom, International Latin, International Ballroom & Nightclub. Through my extensive training in multiple forms of dance and years of ballroom & latin teaching experience I created the Strides ballroom method of learning to dance. I use the Strides ballroom method on all lessons to help students reach their short or long term goals.
